The Northern Lights season is from September to April, making Bodø & Salten an ideal destination for northern lights hunting. A visit during these months can not be done without a northern lights hunting experience.
3. Experience Saltstraumen – The World’s Strongest Maelstrom
A visit to Bodø isn’t complete without experiencing Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current. Witness massive whirlpools as the tides change, creating this impressive natural phenomenon. Saltstraumen is also one of the best places in Norway for snorkling and diving, offering a rich marine ecosystem teeming with life.
