Ulvsvågskaret

You might not find such a beautiful view easily accessible elsewhere along E6. Take a short walk to Jensvasskollen at Ulvsvågskaret. It’s most stunning when the sun hangs low over the Lofoten wall.

Hike Description

Ulvsvågskaret is a great starting point for fantastic hikes! The hikes in the area offer a variety of challenges for everyone, and regardless of the trail you choose, you’re guaranteed to enjoy stunning views.

We recommend two hikes at Ulvsvågskardet. The first hike follows an asphalted path. You’ll walk along the eastern side of the lake on the trail, reaching the southern side before it loops back. This trail is suitable for strollers, bicycles, or wheelchairs. Along the way, you can take a break at the lean-to shelter on the eastern side of the lake. There’s an outdoor toilet and a fire pit available.

The second hike takes you to Jensvasskollen, offering fantastic views. To reach the summit, follow the markers and clear trail from the parking area along the ridge to the top. For the return, you can take the path that goes directly south from the summit and then turns west along the ski track after about 500 meters. You’ll descend near the lean-to shelter by the lake. From there, follow the road north along the lake back to the parking area.

 

Getting to Ulvsvågskare

For the trip to Ulvsvågskaret, the easiest way to get there is by using your own car or taking a bus along E6. The bus runs from Bodø to Ulvsvågskaret Skisenter. The journey takes approximately 3 to 4 hours from Bodø.

You can also travel by express boat to Skutvik, which takes about 2.2 hours with daily departures. Bicycles are allowed on the express boat. From the express boat pier, there is a bus connection to Presteid and further on to Ulvsvågskaret.
