Stabburdalsryggen is a walk in easy and nice high mountain terrain. This is an attractive hiking area all year round. In the winter, there are great ski slopes that can be enjoyed well into the spring.

Hike Description

Follow the path all the way and the differences in height are small. This is a trip suitable for the whole family.

You will visit the Gåsvatnan landscape conservation area with rich geology and varied flora. In the landscape conservation area there are caves and limestone deposits. On the tour you also get a nice view of the peaks to the north and south. This is an attractive hiking area all year round. The terrain is great for families with small children.

Start from the car park on the east side of the tunnel at Beiarfjellet. Follow the Stabbursdal ridge until it slopes towards Rennadalen. On the tour, you have the Smågåsvatnan landscape conservation area to the east. This hiking trail is groomed as a ski trail in the winter. If you want a round trip, you can follow the T-marked path across Smågåsvatnan towards Tverrbrennstua and back to the parking lot east of the tunnel.

Getting to Stabbursdalryggen

The easiest way to get to Beiarfjellet is by bus from Bodø or your own car. The bus has daily departures with a journey time of approx. 2 hours. 

If you want to spend the night, you can do this at BOT/DNT’s cabin Tverrbrennstua or in your own tent.
