MS Salten features interiors of teak, flame birch, and mahogany, cabins reminiscent of grandpa’s time, and an original engine from its construction year, 1953. Back then, the ship served as a local ferry, connecting remote villages in Salten, and was also used as a reserve for the coastal express route, Hurtigruten.
Today, you can rent MS Salten for private gatherings, or corporate meetings, either docked or for shorter or longer sailings. The dining room accommodates up to 41 people, and there are several lounges and a covered deck where guests can gather.
We also offer our charming cabins for overnight stays for groups of at least 10 people.
MS Salten is owned by the foundation Stiftelsen MS Salten, operated on a voluntary basis in collaboration with MS Salten’s Friends. All proceeds go towards the ship’s operation and maintenance.
