Fishermans cabins

Kjerringøy Rorbusenter

About

Enjoy relaxing days or a vacation packed with activites in a traditional norwegian “rorbu”!

A “rorbu” is a small traditional seasonal cottage used by fishermen during fishing season in Northern Norway for more than 850 years.

These days, Norwegian fishermen live on modern boats during season, but the rorbus still remain – now as hotel cabins with an historical atmosphere.

Kjerringøy Rorbusenter offers ten rorbu cabins with ocean and mountain top views right outside your window. Would you like a relaxing vacation on the pier, or maybe you prefer an active holiday? At Kjerringøy Rorbusenter you can do both. We’ve got a café, restaurant and lounge, free rental of fishing rods and boats, hiking and climbing locations, guided boat trips and family activities on our 1500 square meter pier.

We also take you through the fjords outside Kjerringøy – to mountains and glaciers in Sjunkhatten and Rago national park, to old trading posts and to hidden strawberry fields where you can harvest your own desert.

Welcome to Kjerringøy Rorbusenter!
