Pre-Christmas Activites
Would you like to spend the pre-Christmas period doing something pleasant with family or good friends? Here are our suggestions for what you can do to get into the Christmas spirit in Bodø.
1. Christmas tree lighting and unveiling of the Christmas tree installation
Bodø City Centre // December 2th
On December 2nd, there will be both the Christmas tree lighting in the square and the unveiling of Bodø’s new Christmas tree installation outside the Stormen Library.

2. Christmas market in Bodø city center
From December 15th to 17th, there will be a Christmas market in Glasshuset and the square. Get into the Christmas spirit, find this year’s Christmas gifts from local producers, or indulge in delicious Christmas snacks. Perhaps even Santa Claus will make an appearance?
3. Go Ice skating
Ice skate at Kvartal 99 in Bodø city center. The rink is located on top of the parking garage and is cooled, allowing you to ice skate even when the air is a bit warm. If you don’t have skates, you can borrow them for free at BUA Bodø.
4. “Kultursenterets” Christmas Market
On December 9th and 10th, the Nordland Cultural Center is hosting its traditional Christmas market. Here, you’ll discover locally crafted artworks, locally produced delicacies, student enterprises, and cultural experiences for both young and old.
5. Pre-Christmas coziness at Kjerringøy Trading Post
You’re guaranteed to get into the Christmas spirit here! Join in the search for the ‘jektenisse,’ take a horse and carriage ride, shop at the old bakery from the 1800s, participate in candle making, buy sweets and Christmas gifts at the general store, and enjoy delightful treats at the café. It’s perfect for the whole family

6. Visit the Gingerbread Town
The gingerbread town in Bodø opens in a new setting at Quality Hotel Ramsalt. The gingerbread town opens on November 29th and is open for everyone who wishes to come. Bring the whole family and get into the Christmas spirit.
7. Sauna and ice bath
Bring your close friends and enjoy a sauna followed by an ice-cold bath at Pust Bodø. A much-needed breather in the midst of pre-Christmas stress.
8. St. Lucia concert at Bodø Cathedral
On December 13th, Lucia Day, the traditional Lucia concert takes place at Bodø Cathedral. A atmospheric concert that has become a cherished tradition for many.
9. Christmas shows and concerts
Stormen Concert Hall offers several performances during the pre-Christmas season, ensuring a festive atmosphere. From concerts to performances, there’s something for the whole family. Check out the full program on Stormen’s website.
